christmas tree

This weekend we drove to the forest and cut ourselves a Christmas tree. It was a really fun family day trip! We loved playing in the snow and picking out a tree. Really it was Bug who was most opinionated about the tree though. She insisted on a very specific one. The funniest thing is, we thought it was a pretty small Charlie Brown type tree, until we brought it inside! Its quite large. We're really excited to make this an annual event. Here Andrew is, all ready to chop down a tree! He really did love carrying his hatchet around.

bug turns 10

Bug turned 10! We've always said when she turned 10 she could get her ears pierced. So on the day of her birthday, that's just what we did. She also chose a donut cake this year (a dozen donuts stacked on top of each other). I was pretty excited about that!

We love this girl. She is smart, pretty darn sweet and is definitely an oldest child. She changes Mr's diapers and gets him dressed in pjs at night, keeps care of Allison and is a good friend to Tank. She loves to read. If you ever can't find her, she's in her room reading. She's pretty into soccer and also enjoys sewing. I will find her marching down the stairs, carrying the sewing machine, ready to start a project. Her last one was drawstring bags. She's such a joy and I feel so lucky she is ours. Happy birthday Bug, we sure do love you!

halloween

The kids had a great Halloween! Bug was finally a musketeer this year. She has had her eye on this costume for years, at least 3. I always told her it was too much to spend on a costume, but this year she pulled at my heart strings a bit more and I told her this was her year! As soon as the musketeer costume arrived in the mail, she told me she has her eye on another costume in the catalog for next year already, a snow queen. I guess I do love this girls' creativity when it comes to picking out costumes.

In addition to having a musketeer for a night, we also had an army guy, mermaid and Mater. Mr really caught on quite quick to the holiday and was completely confused as to why people weren't giving him candy the following day. It made such an impact that when we went to Costco the other day and he saw the Christmas trees with lights in the store he shouted, 'Halloween day!' with utter glee.

pumpkin patch

We had a great time at the pumpkin patch again this year! Those homemade pumpkin donuts keep us coming back year after year!

mr turns 2

Our little Mr. turned 2 and is officially a toddler. He is a wonderful little caboose! In the last couple of months our sweet mild tempered boy has learned that in order to get some service around here, he's got to be the loudest out of all his siblings. He loves cars, trucks, trailers, boats, trains...anything that goes! And he thinks balls are super fun to toss and kick around. He is really chatty and always quick to say, 'Tank u Mama.' It melts my heart every times. If he feels he's hurt you or been too rough with you, he's fast to give out an apologetic hug and gentle cheek stroke. And if he spies Tank laying on the ground, he's quick to jump on top of him and get a wrestle in (it works the other way around too) . We sure love this little big guy and are so glad he's apart of our family!
