construction site

It is no secret Tank loves construction sites and Bug finds them pretty interesting too. So, there was some excitement around here when a construction project down the road from us started. So much so, that we have been stopping by with picnic lunches and watching the action from our car about once a week. I think some of the construction workers are starting to recognize us because we are getting some waves. Quite often when we are there though, the workers have stopped for lunch. This past week as we approached, Tank noticed the workers were still working and shouted, "This is so awesome! There are workers!" They also happened to be using a lot of equipment that day and Tank's jaw just about dropped in awe. I tell you, it is going to be a sad day when my kids aren't so easily pleased. It will also be a sad day when this store is done being constructed.

apples

This year marks the first year our little apple tree has produced apples for us! I am pretty excited about this. I love apples. A month after moving to Washington, I picked up a baby apple tree and have been nursing it since (it was in a big pot at our duplex and than transplanted when we moved to our house). I think we will have gotten about four dozen apples out of it this year and I cannot wait to continue to get more in the years to come! This is our first big harvest. Tank had a REALLY hard time not wanting to pick the balls off the tree all summer long.

boating

We have had a lot of fun boating with our good friends this past summer! Pretty sure they made all of Andrew's dreams come true with the amount of boating he got in. The kids have loved it as well and were really disappointed when we told them boating season was pretty much over.

first day

We are not too sure how this has happened, but Little Bug started kindergarten this year! She has been excited to start school for quite sometime. She was just a little nervous before entering the classroom, but warmed up right away and even came home announcing she was ready to go to school all day. Good thing I have a year to adjust to that reality. I am going to miss my Bug, but am so glad she is excited for this adventure.

camping

A couple weeks ago we were able to go camping with our good friends, the Christensens. We had so much fun! It was pretty glorified camping, which at my stage in motherhood is just right. We ended up camping at a boat launch and then went boating the next day. It was perfect. We had fun playing at the beach, eating hot dogs, making smore's, chatting late into the night and of course boating. The kids favorite part was sleeping in the tent (which makes me laugh because that is my least favorite part about camping) and eating an unlimited amount of smore's (I totally agree with that one). And my friend Lindsey ended up taking these awesome pictures of our whole experience! Thank you Lindsey, it makes me smile looking at all these photos! 

As we drove away from our campsite, Tank was pretty heartbroken. He kept saying he still wanted to go camping and both kids are already asking to go again. Until next summer! Sigh. I am missing it already.

Andrew had his 34th birthday this last week. 34TH BIRTHDAY. So, we partied it up to make us feel young.

We were so warn out from it all we fell asleep right after putting the kids to bed.
